The Great Migration (June – October)
From June through October, the migrating herds of wildebeest are in the northern Serengeti, where they spend weeks crossing back and forth across the Mara river to get to the best grazing lands.
Day 1: Arrival
Your safari guide and driver will meet you at Kilimanjaro International Airport. After going through Immigration, you will drive to Arusha for check in at your hotel, dinner, and overnight.
Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, you will set out for Tarangire National Park where you will enjoy a full day of game drives with picnic lunch, followed by a late afternoon drive to your lodge or camp for check in, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 3: Tarangire to Karatu/Ngorongoro via Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, set out again with picnic lunch and drive towards Lake Manyara National Park for a full day of game drives with packed lunch and another late afternoon drive to your lodge or camp for check in, dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Karatu/Ngorongoro to Ngorogoro Crater
After breakfast, you will depart very early in the morning and drive through Ngorongoro Highlands to the crater rim to enjoy stunning views of the world-famous caldera before descending slowly down to the crater floor to view the wildlife before ascending again for an evening drive to your lodge.
Day 5: Karatu/Ngorongoro to Central Serengeti National Park
Today you will depart after breakfast for Serengeti National Park for a full day of game drives, followed by a short evening drive to your lodge or camp for the night.
Days 6 & 7: Two full days in Northern Serengeti following the Great Migration
After breakfast, depart your lodge with a packed lunch and drive through the Serengeti plains heading north. Explore the long grass plains, river valleys, and woodlands, winding up with a late afternoon drive to your lodge in the Northern Serengeti for dinner and overnight. You will stay at the same lodge for two nights, enjoying daily game drives in the park.
Day 8: Departure
After breakfast, you depart early for a morning game drive before driving to the airstrip for your domestic flight to Arusha airport, where you will meet your private transfer to Kilimanjaro for your outbound flight home.
