The Great Migration (December – March)
From December through March, the migrating wildebeest herds are in the southern Serengeti. Late January through early February is calving season, when thousands of baby wildebeest are born every day.
Day 1: Arrival
Your safari guide and driver will meet you at Kilimanjaro International Airport. After going through Immigration, you will drive to Arusha for check in at your hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, you will set out for Tarangire National Park where you will enjoy a full day of game drives with picnic lunch, followed by a late afternoon drive to your lodge or camp for check in, dinner, and overnight.
Day 3: Tarangire to Karatu/Ngorongoro via Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, set out again with picnic lunch and drive towards Lake Manyara National Park for a full day of game drives with packed lunch and another late afternoon drive to your lodge or camp for check in, dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Karatu/Ngorongoro to Ngorogoro Crater
After breakfast, you will depart very early in the morning and drive through Ngorongoro Highlands to the crater rim to enjoy stunning views of the world-famous caldera before descending slowly down to the crater floor to view the wildlife before ascending again for an evening drive to your lodge.
Days 5 – 7: Three full days in Southern Serengeti following the Great Migration
After breakfast, you will set out again with a packed lunch and enjoy a full day of game drives in Southern Serengeti National Park. You will stay in the park for three nights enjoying game drives throughout the southern part of the Serengeti where the herds are expected to be.
Day 8: Departure
After breakfast, you depart early for a morning game drive before driving to the airstrip for your domestic flight to Arusha airport, where you will meet your private transfer to Kilimanjaro for your outbound flight home.
