What is Siku Kamili Safari?

From the endless plains of the Serengeti in northern Tanzania to the waterfalls of the Udzungwa mountains in the south, from the Indian Ocean beaches of Zanzibar to the Mahale mountains in the west, Siku Kamili Safari organizes custom safaris for solo adventurers, honeymooning newlyweds, photographic expeditions, and groups of family and friends. No matter if your dream is to capture photos of the Big Five game animals or learn about the interactions among native birds, insects and plants, we will work to make every day of your trip a siku kamili — a perfect day in Swahili.

Why choose Tanzania?

Tanzania is an amazing country to visit on safari. Fifteen percent of Tanzania’s area is dedicated to national parks, and its biodiversity puts it in the top fifteen countries in the world. More than one third of the total plant species in Africa can be found in the nation, and twenty percent of Africa’s large mammals spend their lives in Tanzania. And if birds are your jam, know that Tanzania ranks twelfth in the world in terms of variety of bird species.

Why choose Siku Kamili Safari?

Unlike many safari companies, Siku Kamili Safari is a small business, locally owned and operated by Onesmo Jacob Mbise, a native Tanzanian. You will not find a more knowledgeable guide or more welcoming host for your visit in all of Tanzania.

Onesmo was born and raised between Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro, the two highest mountains in Tanzania. Born in a rural area, he spent most of his childhood on the family farm. After finishing school in Arusha, Onesmo followed his dream and trained as a safari guide at one of the best programs in Tanzania. His passion and love of wildlife helped him very quickly become one of the famous guides in the region. In addition to guiding safaris in Tanzania, Onesmo has worked on problem animal control in one of the largest national parks in the country, coordinating with the government and also with surrounding communities. His bushwalking experience has deepened his understanding of animal behavior beyond what can be observed from a safari vehicle. Outside of Tanzania, Onesmo has studied and worked in South Africa, Malta, Zimbabwe, and the United Kingdom.
